Long Term Care Homes Ontario Health Care Reporting Standards/Management Information Systems (LTCH OHRS/MIS)
The LTCH OHRS/MIS project was completed on March 31, 2013. All homes that implemented a software solution have been transitioned to the CCIM operations team for ongoing support and maintenance.
This milestone marks the completion of the transition of responsibility for the Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards (OHRS) from the LTCH OHRS/MIS project to Health Data Branch (HDB). HDB will now respond to all your OHRS-related questions.
Please e-mail all OHRS inquiries to HDB at OHRSLTCH@ontario.ca.
Standardized financial and statistical data are now available for the entire LTCH sector to assist in client care planning and decision-making. This incredible accomplishment would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of participating homes in implementing the standards, attending training and collecting and submitting quality data.
All homes are strongly encouraged to continue to use the established Verification Report, Comparative Report and Healthcare Indicator Tool for ongoing data review. If you have feedback regarding changes to those reports, please contact HDB. This information will be captured and presented to the LTCH OHRS Advisory Committee going forward.
OHRS reporting enables LTCH to:
- Standardize the financial and statistical framework for data collection processes
- Benchmark with peers based on indicator tools and provincial comparative reports to create high-quality, useful data
- Demonstrate efficiencies and improve the effectiveness of service delivery
- Comply with the Canadian Institute for Chartered Accountants (CICA) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP)
